IBS has come and gone, I am back home in New Jersey, and I am getting ready for another round of traveling. The social end of things has been insane since the new year, and to be completely honest, I have been enjoying the respite from contracting. That being said, Las Vegas is not the place for me! Between the smoking, the carpet, the constant stimulation, the gambling, hookers, and partying; I am not a huge fan. And for the record, I did not indulge in any of the above vices, minus carpeting. I spent a lot of time walking on carpeting. I flew out on Sunday night prior to the show and took a redeye home, which had me in Philadelphia by 7am Friday. I enjoyed the company, spending time with my podcast crew, and seeing all of the vendors and partners that I work with throughout the year, but Vegas is a young man’s game.
If you have never been to the International Builders’ Show, I would highly recommend it. Wear comfortable shoes and get some rest leading up to the event. The amount of vendors, displays, educational sessions, and opportunities to network is truly second to none. From an investment standpoint, it is difficult to beat the opportunities that the show presents. Anything that you could ever want to see will be at the show. NAHB does a wonderful job organizing the event considering how much is going on in such a short amount of time. All of my contacts at NAHB were especially helpful and pleasant. Shout out to my boy Marcus for hooking me up with all my needs for the show!
I want to give a special thank you to Andersen Windows, Westlake Royal Building Products, Digs, Certainteed, Rockwool, and The Real Dad Podcast for all of the love. Between meetings, lunches, dinners, social outings, and networking opportunities, you all made the show extremely valuable.
Andersen Demo Booth 505 exhibit booth 403 3/22 at 2pm presenting on the consequences of a bad window installation.
I also want to quickly mention that I will be at JLC Live on March 21-March 23 in Providence, Rhode Island. I have always loved this show. It is a smaller show, but the quality of content, exhibitors, and professionals is second to none. Nick and I will be presenting on “How to Keep a Client Happy in Ten Ways” Thursday March 21 at 3:30 pm and “A Guide to Capturing All of Your Costs” Friday March 22 at 9:30 am. Find the info here.
